Caleb Fort, Chairman

Living in Spartanburg, SC since 1990, Caleb Fort currently serves as Co-Chairman of The Merit Group, Inc., national distributors of residential and commercial paint-related products and various industrial supplies.

Mr. Fort graduated with a B.A. from The University of South Carolina in 1984.

He is active in several charitable, civic and educational organizations, currently serving as Immediate Past President for the Board of Directors at SC Governor’s School for Science and Mathematics Foundation. He's also a member of the executive committee of the Board of Trustees at Converse College and a member of the board of the SC Chamber of Commerce.

He has also served as Chairman, Board of Trustees at Coker College; as a member of the Board of Trustees for The Arts Partnership of Spartanburg; Vice President, Board of Managers at the SC Historical Society; a Board Member for The United Way of The Piedmont; the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce; and has served with various groups and committees, including the Investment Committee of The Spartanburg County Foundation and The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Board of Visitors.

Mr. Fort graduated Leadership Spartanburg in 1997 and is a member of The Liberty Fellowship class of 2006. He also serves as a Director for Carolina Alliance Bank of Spartanburg, and has been a Director of Sonoco Products Company since 2001.

Caleb C. Fort is married, with two children.
